Like other properties along this stretch of Malaspina Promenade, from 1915 to 1922 the  property was registered to the James Jenkins Estate.

In 1923 it was registered to Katherine Ashworth, wife of George Ashworth who built the Royal Savary Hotel.

In 1923 Parcel B, the waterfront strip of land, was purchased from the Crown, according to Subdivision Plan 5205. This strip would have been added to the existing property.

Neva Gertrude Keefer, wife of Savary pioneer Harry Keefer, was the registered owner in 1926. A substantial log house was built by Harry Keefer and Alan Mace in 1927, using logs salvaged from the beach. Harry Keefer rented the house to summer visitors for many years.

Around 1958 the log house was purchased by Richard (Dick) Whittall and his wife

Lyn. In 1960 Terry Chettleburgh added a master bedroom to the western end of the building. He reportedly had a difficult time finding beach logs to match the original construction. An open “sleeping porch” was enclosed and made into the present dining room.

Dick and Lyn Whittall and their four children, Gerald, Pam, Ginny and Richard, spent many happy summers at the cottage in the 1960s and 1970s. A small ancillary cabin to the west was designed by architect Drew Rose and constructed in the mid-1980s.

Around 1994 the Whittalls purchased the neighbouring cottage which was originally owned by the Pickett family and then the Shanamans. The Whittalls renovated and expanded this cottage.

Pam Whittall and Ed Beange were the registered owners in approximately 2017.

Pam Whittall is the current owner of the three combined houses.
